SUMMARY
This role is eligible for a High Demand Stipend, providing an additional $14.00 per contact hour for each PNURS course taught.
BATES TECHNICAL COLLEGE is seeking qualified candidates for a temporary teaching role as a Practical Nursing Educator. Candidates will be placed on an eligible list and selected as needed for part-time positions that may arise at any time.
The Practical Nursing Educator will deliver comprehensive training to students enrolled in the practical nursing and nursing assistant programs. Instructors will engage in various educational environments, including classroom instruction, skills lab, simulation lab, and clinical settings.
Instructors are expected to collaborate with fellow nursing faculty to create teaching and learning activities, develop evaluation tools, and provide constructive feedback to students.
Incumbents will uphold the guiding principles of the college, reflecting its mission and vision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & OTHER DUTIES- Deliver both clinical and theoretical instruction to nursing students, fostering competency in the nursing process.
- Coordinate instructional delivery with other nursing faculty, ensuring alignment with program objectives and monitoring student outcomes to enhance success.
- Analyze industry requirements and nursing commission standards to develop and update course curriculum, including performance objectives and lesson plans.
- Assess and evaluate students promptly based on the curriculum to ensure learning outcomes are achieved.
- Mentor and guide students towards fulfilling program requirements, including interpersonal skills and career aspirations.
- Ensure adherence to safety practices, maintaining a safe learning environment and equipment.
- Utilize effective teaching techniques and instructional materials in classroom and lab settings.
- Stay current with industry standards to ensure instruction aligns with contemporary practices.
- Maintain accurate records and timelines as required.
- Develop and uphold industry-based program accreditation, preparing students for relevant credentials and certifications.
- Manage classroom dynamics to foster a conducive learning environment, addressing student conduct issues in accordance with college procedures.
- Oversee budget management, including requisition and inventory control of program supplies and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of nursing experience.
- Possession of an unencumbered Washington State RN License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or learning challenges.
- Prior teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
