Adjunct Faculty - Facilities Maintenance

Bates Technical College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach in our facilities maintenance program. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing high-quality industry-standard education to students in a manner that prepares successful program graduates for entry-level employment in the facilities maintenance field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver effective instructional materials and learning experiences that meet the needs of students and industry partners.
  • Mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development, providing individualized support and feedback.
  • Evaluate student learning and progress, using a variety of assessment methods to ensure students meet program outcomes.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices, incorporating relevant technologies and techniques into instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of the facilities maintenance industry.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in facilities maintenance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with a strong background in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and grounds care.
  • Experience in teaching or training, with a focus on adult learners and industry-specific training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience in supervisory or leadership roles, with a focus on team management and development.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities and learning disabilities.
