Nursing Professor

The Tacoma Community College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nursing Professor - Adjunct to join our team. As a Nursing Professor - Adjunct, you will be responsible for teaching nursing curriculum to assigned student groups using TCC's concept-based curriculum and evidence-based teaching practices within the framework of the nursing program's stated mission.
Responsibilities- Teach nursing curriculum to assigned student groups using TCC's concept-based curriculum and evidence-based teaching practices.
- Supervise and evaluate nursing students in the educational environment within the framework of the program's six themes: Informatics & Technology, Safety & Quality Improvement, Professionalism and Leadership, Teamwork and Collaboration, Patient-Centered Care, and Clinical Judgment/Evidence-Based Practice.
- Participate in College and Nursing program assessment processes.
- Meet NLN Nurse Educator Nurse Competencies.
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, OR a baccalaureate degree in nursing, with a master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Has a minimum of two years of professional experience in the practice of nursing.
- Has current clinical experience of at least two years in the clinical subject area assigned to teach.
- The Professor will be an expert nurse generalist and have expertise in one of the following areas: medical-surgical, maternal-child, pediatrics, mental health nursing, critical care, or long term care.
- Meets NLN Nurse Educator Nurse Competencies.
- Successful adult teaching experience in any discipline that shows knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, student evaluation, and a willingness to hone those skills the first year of teaching.
- Part-time faculty salary range is per credit hour starting at $1,208.89 to $1, Salary ranges are subject to any approved COLA's after initial placement.
- If applicable, Lab credit hours are paid at 50% the credit hour rate. Professional Services hours are paid at a flat rate of $44.00-$44.00 per hour.
- Placement on the faculty salary schedule will commensurate with educational background and experience per the 2024 Faculty Negotiated Agreement.
- Part-time faculty may become eligible for healthcare and retirement benefits at the beginning of the second consecutive quarter of half-time or more employment at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education.
