About the Role

The School Social Worker/Clinical Counselor will work collaboratively with school personnel to remove barriers preventing scholars from accessing instruction. This role requires a strengths-based and youth development perspective to provide counseling services, develop IEP goals, and implement strategies targeting students' behavioral and emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counseling students individually and in groups to address social-emotional challenges
  • Participating in IEP meetings to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Providing professional development trainings on behavioral and social challenges
  • Maintaining documentation of services provided to all students
  • Collaborating with the Clinical Services Department to recruit and supervise graduate mental health interns
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or mental health/community/school counseling with licensure
  • OSSE certification eligible upon hiring
  • Experience working in juvenile detention or secure facilities preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong skills in documenting efforts and interventions
