Position Overview

The International Stores Finance (ISF) team is in search of a Senior Financial Analyst to facilitate the ongoing growth of our global consumer operations. As we embrace the philosophy of 'Day 1' at Amazon, this is particularly relevant within the ISF, Headcount, and OPEX divisions as we expand our international footprint.

This role involves collaboration with dedicated marketplaces beyond North America, including regions such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Netherlands, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Brazil, which are continuously expanding.

To support this rapidly evolving sector, we are seeking a new wave of exceptional finance professionals to work alongside various Regional Finance and Business teams, as well as Corporate HQ teams, to enhance financial comprehension, refine existing processes, and achieve outstanding results while fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in both short-term and long-term financial forecasting for the International Stores Finance organization.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms to enhance visibility and insights for senior leadership in International Stores Finance.
  • Conduct financial reporting, project analyses, and financial modeling utilizing a variety of tools, including Excel.
  • Oversee essential financial processes for the International Consumer business, including month-end closures, Annual Operating Plans, long-range Strategic Plans, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Execute complex business modeling and analysis to identify operational enhancements and scrutinize cost structures.
  • Ensure accountability for financial plans and forecasts while confidently challenging underlying assumptions.
  • Standardize planning and forecasting cycles across all International Stores regions and global program teams.
  • Collaborate closely with regional finance leaders and FP&A teams to establish robust forecasting models and variance analyses.
  • Enhance performance by reinforcing metrics through analytics and financial modeling.
  • Influence business decisions through effective communication, data-driven analysis, and the presentation of options and alternatives.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs to guide the organization in maintaining and enhancing profitability.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, computer science).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CPA.
  • Familiarity with Tableau.
  • 4+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing controllership with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
