Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Central Health. As a Medical Assistant - Respite/Bridge, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care in diverse care environments, ensuring all client needs are met in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist with client intake, orientation, and case management duties in the respite environment.
- Accompany clients to critical medical care appointments and serve as their advocate during healthcare encounters.
- Perform clinical duties, including administering medications, immunizations, and conducting point-of-care testing, as assigned and competency validated.
- Collaborate with the care team to optimize clinical outcomes and ensure effective client care delivery.
- Document all client encounters and contacts made with clients utilizing the enterprise electronic health record.
- Assist clients with accessing health-related services, including obtaining a medical home and overcoming barriers to needed medical care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Diploma and/or National Medical Assistant Certification verifying graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent military healthcare experience.
- Current Texas Driver's License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers obtained through approved American Heart Association.
This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of patient interaction. The Medical Assistant - Respite/Bridge will be required to travel to designated locations throughout the community to provide healthcare services.
