Job Title: Coordinator for Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf KidsJob Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Coordinator for Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids. This contracted position will play a pivotal role in engaging families and collaborating with various organizations to support the implementation of PA 256, which focuses on language acquisition and early education resources for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with families to gather input for the development of a parent resource.
  • Educate families on the requirements of PA 256 and assist in its implementation.
  • Collaborate with the LEAD-K Advisory Committee on the creation and distribution of the parent resource.
  • Serve as a liaison to various groups and agencies to coordinate efforts in fulfilling legislative requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the LEAD-K conference in June 2025.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:

This position requires a strong understanding of early childhood education and advocacy for families with deaf and hard-of-hearing children. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What We Offer:

This is a grant-funded position, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood education and advocacy. The hourly rate is $30 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, not to exceed $62,400. The position is primarily remote, with occasional in-person meeting attendance in Lansing and other areas of Michigan as needed.
