Electrical Engineer Opportunity at BAE Systems USA

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical systems for our defense and commercial electronics products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate system requirements into compliant complex printed board assembly designs
  • Conduct technical trade studies, evaluate technology insertion/upgrades, and perform laboratory testing and troubleshooting
  • Integrate and evaluate hardware module performance using simulation tools and prototype hardware in a laboratory environment
  • Create design documentation and verification test procedures
  • Simplify the Engineering Service Model and knowledge transfer by mentoring junior engineering talent
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with product development and support of electronics equipment
  • Detailed design experience in Power Supply (AC to DC / DC to DC) design and EMI design
  • Knowledge of Platform Power and EMI Standards: MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-464
  • Solid fundamentals of digital/analog/mixed signal electronics and interface/communication standards
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing and test methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing compact embedded systems for harsh environments
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering design, schematic capture, and analysis tools
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with printed board assembly (PBA, PCB) design using Cadence tools
  • Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes
  • Experience with FPGA designs
  • Experience with radar systems
  • Knowledge of memory interfaces such as DDR, QSPI
  • Knowledge of data transfer protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD 204, I2C, JTAG
  • Control account management experience
  • Active DOD security clearance
