Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Transport Associate to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). As a Patient Transport Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the hospital complex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to inpatient units, clinics, and special study areas
  • Deliver specimens to laboratories not on the pneumatic tube system
  • Transport deceased patients to the Morgue
  • Retrieve and track equipment owned by the Emergency Department and ambulance companies
  • Run errands as needed by clinical and administrative staff
  • Provide internal transport/escort of patients within the Emergency Department
Requirements
  • Ability to read, speak, and follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to push, pull, and move patients up to 300 pounds
  • Ability to lift items weighing 50 pounds
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Successful completion of on-the-job orientation and training
  • Working knowledge of Safety, Universal Precaution, and OSHA guidelines
