The McCallie School, Inc is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff via phone, email, and in-person
  • Set up, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain school devices, including Windows laptops and desktops, Chromebooks, and Macs
  • Manage inventory and logistics of student loaner laptops
  • Perform routine maintenance of computer systems, including updates, patches, and security configurations
  • Ensure all devices and systems adhere to industry-standard security practices
  • Set up, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain printers and other networked devices
  • Provide on-site support for designated events outside normal business hours
  • Assist with office and classroom moves, adds, and changes
  • Provide end-user support for software and hardware, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of common desktop and mobile devices, operating systems, and productivity applications software
  • Experience using collaboration and conferencing tools, such as Zoom or Google Meet
  • Ability to work with customers with varying levels of computer expertise
  • Proficient communication skills, including strong writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve problems, identify areas for improvement, and adhere to industry and school best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One or more years of experience working with device management systems, such as JAMF or PDQ
  • Experience with backend streaming services used for videos and livestreams/webinars
  • Experience with Linux administration, including provisioning, configuration, and maintenance
  • Programming/scripting experience with PowerShell, CMD, or bash
  • Experience working in a school, college, or university IT department
