Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and refine the entire service lifecycle—from initial design and deployment to ongoing operation and improvement, utilizing agile methodologies.
  • Assist in service readiness prior to launch through activities such as system design consultation, software platform development, capacity planning, and launch evaluations.
  • Adopt the DevSecOps philosophy with a focus on automating processes wherever feasible.
  • Oversee live services by monitoring availability, latency, and overall system performance.
  • Ensure sustainable system scaling through automation; advocate for enhancements that boost reliability and speed.
  • Engage in effective incident response and contribute to retrospective analyses.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Active Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a DevSecOps Engineer role.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience in Python, with the ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
  • A systematic approach to problem-solving, coupled with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Proven experience in developing continuous, automated build and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience in conditional procedures for build and deployment pipelines based on security assessments of source and artifacts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with software development and platform infrastructure teams to provide valuable guidance for code development and deployment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of version control for release artifacts to facilitate upgrade rollouts and rollbacks.
  • Strong understanding of web application containerization.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, Kops, OpenShift).
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in bash shell scripting.

Preferred:

  • Certifications in Agile, Lean, DevOps, Cloud, Security+, or other relevant professional credentials.
  • Familiarity with DoD IT standards and federal security regulations is highly desirable.
  • Insight into the Army software development process and associated technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional agile team environment.
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
