Job Summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting access control, system integration, endpoint protection, data protection, and other components of our cybersecurity infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CMMC) and develop detailed architecture and design of system and security management capabilities.
  • Research available technology options and their respective functional, performance, security, and interoperability characteristics; test and evaluate technology components.
  • Produce detailed system design, including network and systems infrastructure, interconnections, and application configuration to implement and enforce enterprise-wide access control, audit and accountability, data protection, system integrity, and other policies.
  • Implement systems, develop policies, configure, and administer key solution components, including network infrastructure, cybersecurity management application software, database stores, and other components.
  • Plan, evaluate, and execute capacity optimization, updates, upgrades, and other lifecycle activities associated with the solution; troubleshoot functional and performance problems.
  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate system documentation, including design and configuration plans, design diagrams, task-oriented procedures, operations and maintenance plans, etc.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience performing comparable systems engineering, implementation, and support functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of secure configuration benchmarks and hands-on experience in system hardening.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with configuration and administration of cybersecurity platforms, including endpoint security, data loss prevention, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and related.
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows platform and services, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, virtual desktop infrastructure, application deployment frameworks and components, networking, and storage services, and their associated cybersecurity characteristics, logging, monitoring, and auditing capabilities.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud services and technologies, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services.
  • Working understanding of network infrastructure, concepts of operation, and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Syslog, etc.
  • Knowledge of specific network equipment and working experience with routing, switching, and firewall configuration is a plus.

  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Proficiency with workflow and lifecycle management systems.
Education and Certification
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Certification: Microsoft Certified Professional / Systems Engineer certification is strongly desired; Security+ or CISSP certification is strongly desired.
