Position Overview

The Senior IT Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of Austin Energy. This position is responsible for evaluating and analyzing modifications to the technical framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with IT teams to assess critical changes to existing systems and develop comprehensive architectural diagrams using industry-standard tools.
2. Engage with potential vendors to conduct Net Present Value analyses, facilitating informed budgetary decisions for stakeholders.
3. Partner with Business Relationship Managers, Project Management Office, and Operations teams to articulate technology modifications and provide clear explanations of architectural designs throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Qualifications

Graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of four (4) years of experience in business process and systems analysis, including two (2) years in a leadership role. Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in TOGAF Level 1 and 2 or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
- Proficiency in SPARX, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Extensive technical expertise in application development, security, infrastructure, and middleware.
- Direct experience in Enterprise Architecture and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Cshell).

Work Environment

This position is classified as exempt and may require additional hours beyond the standard schedule, including evenings and weekends, to support ongoing operations. The role may involve travel to various locations as necessary.

The pay range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance of the role within the organization.
