Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Center Program Coordinator to join our team at the Ardmore Avenue Community Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, educational, and cultural programs and activities for the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, and supervising of diversified recreational, educational, and cultural programs.
  • Oversee seasonal, part-time, and volunteer staff.
  • Assist in the promotion of programs and the writing of press releases.
  • Plan and conduct special events, handle registration and collection of fees.
  • Maintain records and prepare activity reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget and capital improvement planning for facilities.
  • Contacts community organizations to elicit support for ongoing activities, attends meetings and conferences.
  • Participates in fundraising activities.
  • Conducts tutorial programs for elementary and middle school children.
Requirements
  • An associate degree from a recognized college or university in recreation or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in working in a sports, recreation, or human services environment.
  • Good knowledge of the principles and practices of public recreation programs in the sports field.
  • Good knowledge of the methods and techniques of recreation programs.
  • Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, subordinates, and the general public.
  • Good ability to work with large or small groups.
  • Good ability to instruct and functionally supervise others.
  • Good ability to plan and organize recreational, educational, and cultural activities.
  • Good ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • A valid driver's license.
