Self-Service Checkout Assistance:

  • Capably monitors and identifies customers requiring assistance at multiple self-service checkout stations concurrently.
  • Engages with customers to proactively suggest products and services as needed.
  • Warmly greets, assists, and interacts with several customers across various registers simultaneously.
  • Moves throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and handling products to ensure accurate transaction completion.
  • Expresses gratitude to customers for their patronage and encourages their return.
Customer Engagement:

  • Delivers exceptional customer service consistently by adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Actively seeks to understand customer needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Responds knowledgeably and promptly to inquiries from customers and team members, guiding them through store areas and projects as necessary.
  • Shows genuine appreciation to customers.
  • Communicates essential information regarding stock, special orders, product features, benefits, and warranty details.
  • Mentors, develops, and provides feedback to team members regarding departmental duties and sales opportunities.
  • Utilizes a cash register to manage sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
  • Ensures proper monetary change is provided to front-end associates for register operations.
  • Offers supervision, coaching, and support to the front-end team.
  • Handles security tags, verifies product details, and packages merchandise for customers.
  • Manages incoming phone calls, directing them or taking messages as necessary.
  • Opens additional registers when needed to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Assists in managing lines to enhance checkout efficiency.
Inventory Management:

  • Prepares the register area at the start and end of shifts by ensuring the functionality of registers and stocking necessary supplies.
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
  • Processes customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets.
  • Reviews and organizes online orders and returned merchandise appropriately.
  • Researches product information and competitor pricing to verify price matching.
  • Records all items utilized in the store on the store use lists.
Store Safety and Cleanliness:

  • Obtains safety bags from the cash office and monitors cash drawer levels to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Observes merchandise entering and exiting the store, assisting customers or associates who trigger alarms.
  • Identifies common signs of theft and security risks, promptly reporting them to management.
  • Ensures adherence to cleanliness and organization standards throughout the store and work areas.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, conducting daily safety reviews and addressing hazards.
  • Follows all safety protocols relevant to job duties, including equipment safety and proper handling procedures.
  • Operates store equipment as required based on specific roles and departments.
General Duties:

  • In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this individual is accountable for other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Less than 1 year of experience with computer systems, including data entry and retrieval.
  • Less than 1 year of experience with common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a retail cashier role.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in any department within a retail environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.
  • Less than a year of experience in detecting signs of theft.
