This position is based in Indianapolis and involves overseeing and coordinating underwriting and policy issuance functions under the direction of the VP - Underwriting & Chief Underwriting Officer.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of underwriting strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for underwriting department inquiries from business partners.
  • Evaluate and assess complex risks to ensure adherence to compliance, consistency, and profitability standards.
  • Negotiate reinsurance contracts and support the development of endorsements and policies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on corporate strategy and manage special projects as required.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous experience in directors & officers liability and/or professional liability is preferred.
  • Possession of active Indiana resident insurance agent licenses with a willingness to obtain licenses in additional states.
  • Proven supervisory experience.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check.
