Job Summary
Tasked with delivering educational instruction in alignment with the mission and goals of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to the established course syllabus.
Provide learners with the course outline that details course expectations, specific goals, methods for achieving those goals, and evaluation techniques by the conclusion of the first week of classes.
Employ teaching strategies that cater to diverse educational backgrounds and learning preferences. Facilitate opportunities for students to continuously evaluate their own progress. Provide reasonable chances for each student to achieve the course objectives.
Submit course outlines and/or amendments to the Division Office by the end of the first week of class. Maintain office hours as per institutional guidelines. Enable students to assess instructional effectiveness and arrange for submission of evaluations to the designated office.
Engage in faculty orientation sessions, professional development workshops, and activities aimed at enhancing professional growth. Take responsibility for ongoing professional awareness and development. Support the community college's mission to serve the local community.
Fulfill all other duties relevant to this position as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting or a Master's degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Accounting.
NOTE:
A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and must show completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.
- Experience in teaching the subject area.
- Experience/ability to integrate technology into the classroom environment.
- Experience/ability to teach at the community college level.
Special Conditions:
1. The El Paso Community College is creating a pool of applicants for part-time faculty positions. Faculty are engaged on a part-time basis each semester, depending on the needs of the institution. Applications are accepted year-round from qualified candidates willing to teach on a part-time basis. Part-time faculty hiring is contingent upon college requirements. Classes may be scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends at various times and locations throughout the academic year. This pool will be utilized when a vacancy arises. Your application will remain active for approximately one (1) year. After this period, you will need to reapply if you wish to continue being considered for the pool.
- This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College's policies and procedures.

Only documents labeled 'Transcript' or 'Unofficial Transcript' will be accepted. Other documents (Degree Audit, Degree Summary, Program Summary, etc.) uploaded in lieu of transcripts will not be accepted.

A letter of application, resume, letters of recommendation, and other supporting documents are optional but highly encouraged and may be submitted online with the application form or forwarded to the Human Resources Department. Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees.
All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency recognized by the appropriate governmental authority in its home country.
Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.
Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above-required documentation will not be considered.
