Veterinary Client Service Representative
Client Service Team
Location: Annapolis, Maryland
Minimum Experience: Mid-level
Compensation: $15/hour+
This is a full-time, hourly role with monthly scheduled shifts that may vary based on operational requirements.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Client Service Team (CST) Member plays a crucial role in welcoming and registering clients and their pets. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating the urgency of each patient's condition upon arrival.
- Prioritizing patient care based on assessed needs.
- Communicating treatment plans and associated costs clearly to clients.
- Facilitating payment processes efficiently.
- Managing a multi-line phone system and directing calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Providing assistance and information to clients and potential clients over the phone.
- Organizing and digitizing medical records into an electronic database.
- Coordinating communication between referring veterinarians and emergency care providers.
- Educating clients about their pets' health issues.
- Offering support to clients during difficult times.
This position includes significant administrative responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is advantageous.
+ A minimum of two (2) years of experience in advanced customer service roles is preferred.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a cheerful demeanor, professionalism, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound decision-making skills and well-developed interpersonal capabilities.
+ This is a 24-hour emergency facility operating every day of the year. All staff members must be willing to work a combination of nights, weekends, and holidays, which is a non-negotiable requirement. Candidates with scheduling restrictions may find this position unsuitable.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, starting at $15/hour+.
Shift differentials apply for hours worked between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., offering an additional 25% per hour.
