Audio Visual Technician Job Description

Sports & Social is revolutionizing the fan experience in Washington, DC. Our state-of-the-art venue features a massive media wall and over 20 HDTVs, making it the ultimate destination for sports enthusiasts. As an Audio Visual Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate audio visual equipment, including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, and recording equipment.
  • Confer with event directors to establish cues and directions for seamless event execution.
  • Install custom lighting systems and ensure equipment is installed according to designated layouts.
  • Monitor sound feeds to ensure high-quality audio and resolve equipment issues promptly.
  • Coordinate audio feeds with television images and mix sound inputs and feeds.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on audio visual equipment, including cleaning and storing equipment properly.
  • Ensure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment and maintain inventory of equipment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor and educate venue staff on the safe use of equipment.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus advanced vocational training and two years of experience in audio visual and general building maintenance or construction.
  • Professional certification and license may be required by State and/or municipality regulations.
  • Fluent English language skills and specialized knowledge and skills or certification within a field or discipline such as sound, televising, and lighting equipment mechanics.
  • Excellent communication and mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Physical Demands:
  • Carrying, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling items weighing up to 100-200 pounds.
  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility.
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility.
  • Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crawling.
