Work Location: This role requires full-time, on-site engagement and is not eligible for regular remote work.

Position Responsibilities:

The Audio-Visual Support Specialist plays a crucial role within the Communications Events team, ensuring the seamless operation of audio-visual systems and technology to facilitate high-profile outreach and collaboration. This position collaborates with colleagues across research programs, business units, and Communications to deliver exceptional experiences for participants and attendees at Brookings events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting AV Support (50%):
    Manage audio-visual support for on-site meetings, including setup and testing of equipment, conducting walkthroughs with meeting planners, and performing post-event checks.
  • Event Support (35%):
    Provide AV assistance for events by preparing rooms, integrating remote speakers for hybrid events, and ensuring proper formatting of presentations. Edit and archive event recordings as necessary.
  • Technology Maintenance and Improvements (10%):
    Oversee a variety of audio-visual tools, conduct routine maintenance, and ensure all installations meet operational standards.
  • Studio Support (5%):
    Offer coverage for studio operations, assist with creative productions, and engage in cross-training with team members.

  • Education/Experience:
    A minimum of three years of experience in audio-visual support for high-profile events is required. CTS certification is preferred. An associate degree or equivalent training is necessary.
  • Knowledge/Skills:
    Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of audio and video signal distribution, and proficiency with web-based collaboration platforms are essential. Candidates should be capable of performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
