Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at the California Institution for Women. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs for patients within our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs for patients, including individual and group recreation therapy
  • Monitor and document treatment progress, and work with other healthcare providers to share recreational therapy assessment information and incorporate therapeutic recreational activities into treatment plans
  • Maintain order and supervise the conduct of patients to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property
Requirements
  • Equivalent to graduation from a recognized college with a major in recreation or recreation therapy, including supervised field work
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification as a recreation therapist by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification or by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, Inc.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other healthcare providers and maintain a safe and respectful work environment
