Job Summary

This position is responsible for the operation of the front desk and reception area. This position often serves as the initial point of contact for patients, families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives incoming calls and handles appropriately by transferring or taking messages.
  • Greets visitors and directs them to the appropriate department or staff member.
  • Receives and records payments for services rendered.
  • Maintains a secure and organized front desk area, including handling mail and packages.
  • Assists the nursing department by making announcements, calling staff members, and taking messages as needed.
  • Performs administrative tasks, such as data entry, recordkeeping, and typing.
  • Sorts and distributes mail and packages.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information.
  • Responsible for maintaining regular, punctual attendance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role preferred.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Ability to see, hear, and read.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to possess the emotional stability to deal with people who are ill, disabled, elderly, and at times, emotionally upset.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a office environment with computers, typing, and reading.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
