About the Role

The Lunder Institute Fellowship Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of the Lunder Institute of American Art's fellowship programs and other operations. Reporting to the director of the Lunder Institute, this position works closely with LIAA managers to coordinate logistics, facilitate community engagement, and provide administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of LIAA fellowships, programs, and events
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for residential fellows, scholars, and visiting artists, creating a welcoming space and experience
  • Liaise between LIAA, Colby, and fellows, managing administration associated with fellowship selection, onboarding, and on-site accommodations
  • Organize meetings and events, such as artist studio visits, open studio events, and fellow orientation
  • Collaborate with Colby Museum academic and public engagement staff and faculty to facilitate curricular engagements and community partnerships
  • Create and distribute LIAA Fellowships program schedules and calendars
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking, and evaluating fellowship programs, including data-gathering and report writing
  • Manage administrative support and student workers, setting behavior expectations and providing mentorship
  • Work with LIAA staff to coordinate with internal and external program stakeholders, communications staff, and media outlets
  • Prepare and organize communication, marketing, and promotion of LIAA programs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of related work experience in higher education, artist residencies, or nonprofit arts organizations
  • Proven experience leading complex projects through completion
  • Attention to detail and ability to track materials such as budgets and projects
  • Knowledge and/or interest in American and contemporary art and art history
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and experience with social media, marketing, and website management
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, perform effectively under pressure, and anticipate potential problems
  • Exceptional time management skills to supervise multiple projects and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Adept at exercising independent judgment in a highly visible and fast-paced environment
  • High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite software
