Job Overview

FTS, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ. As a key member of our purchasing team, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services for our homebuilding projects.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field within the homebuilding industry. Key responsibilities will include vendor and supplier management, purchasing and order management, cost control and budgeting, inventory management, collaboration with project managers and construction teams, documentation and reporting, and problem-solving.

  • Vendor & Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate pricing, and secure favorable terms for materials and services required for homebuilding projects.
  • Purchasing & Order Management: Generate and process purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services. Ensure all orders are accurate, timely, and align with project timelines.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor purchasing costs and work with the team to meet budgetary constraints. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory levels for materials, ensuring adequate supply for ongoing projects while minimizing excess stock.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and other departments to ensure material availability and alignment with project timelines.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor contracts, and pricing agreements. Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, material usage, and inventory status.
  • Problem Solving: Address any discrepancies or issues related to purchasing, including late deliveries, product quality concerns, or pricing discrepancies.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field. Experience in the homebuilding or construction industry is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also have strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Procore, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
