Job Summary

Democracy Forward is seeking a highly skilled Video Specialist to join our Policy and Public Affairs team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and managing systems to catalog and deploy video assets efficiently. Your expertise will be crucial in developing compelling short narratives and advising on content capture for various moments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve video cataloging systems to ensure assets are available for deployment across various platforms.
  • Coordinate video asset needs and delivery with external consultants and vendors.
  • Write and edit video scripts that align messaging guidance with compelling narratives to educate and inspire Democracy Forward's audiences.
  • Edit videos using existing footage, including motion graphics, and cut and version-out products for optimal performance on multiple platforms.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere or After Effects.
  • At least one to three years of professional experience developing video databases or catalogs, including with Google Drive, or other platforms.
  • At least one to three years of professional experience producing or editing videos for political, advocacy, news, or other related organizations.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to juggle multiple projects for different stakeholders, and flexibility to work across a range of editing styles.
  • Ability to learn complex legal and policy issues and communicate them to a range of audiences.
  • Experience coaching other team members on implementing video best practices, especially in a remote work environment.
  • Nimble and collaborative team-player with a passion for progressive advocacy and advancing democracy.
  • Commitment to workplace inclusion and ability to contribute affirmatively to a just and equitable workplace culture.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 commensurate with experience.
