The starting hourly rate for this position is $41. As a Production Operations Technician, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining various equipment and systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operations while maximizing asset value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber plants, industrial wastewater treatment facilities, boilers, motors, and combustion turbines.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to manage work orders and spare parts inventory.
  • Lead the identification of equipment or system issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform electrical maintenance on generators, transformers, and motor-operated valves.
  • Execute troubleshooting on plant equipment, including power and control circuits, heaters, motors, and transformers using electrical testing instruments.
  • Develop operating procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain environmental and housekeeping standards in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate's Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics, or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology.
  • Successful completion of training requirements and time-in-job criteria for the position.
  • Electrical background and knowledge of power plant systems.
  • Availability for rotating schedules, including night and day shifts, as well as overtime as needed.
  • Basic computer skills and an understanding of power plant schematics.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic power plant environment, which may involve climbing and walking long distances.
