Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled System Protection Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing protection system settings, engineering calculations, and design documents for our transmission and distribution facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop protection system schematic designs and conduct short circuit and symmetrical component analysis

• Perform protection system coordination studies and develop relay settings and protection system automation logic

• Conduct arc flash analysis and manage integration with SCADA systems

• Develop complex electrical engineering studies, plans, and protection system criteria

• Provide peer review and guidance to junior engineers and technicians

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited university

• A minimum of five years of directly applicable engineering experience

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in the area of electrical engineering

• Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member and maintain project timelines and budgets

• Understanding of PacifiCorp's business and relevant policies, procedures, and practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License (PE)

• Power systems-focused Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field

• Proficiency in substation design and power system protection

• Experience with Aspen-OneLiner and Doble-PowerBase software

PacifiCorp offers a competitive salary range of $100,700-$118,400, as well as an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health care, retirement, paid time off, tuition assistance, paid short-term and long-term disability, and paid bereavement leave.
