Job Summary

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Coordinator to join our team. As a Clinical Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our medical clinic, ensuring seamless patient care and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and examinations, collect and maintain medical records, and oversee patient reception and routine procedures.
  • Manage inventory acquisition and disposition, maintain fiscal controls, and provide administrative support for clinic operations.
  • Interact with patients, in person and/or over the phone, assess the nature and urgency of complaints, obtain preliminary patient and insurance information, and schedule and coordinate appointments with practitioners.
  • Obtain, create, and maintain patient charts, histories, and related records and files; maintain manual and automated patient recordkeeping systems.
  • Perform registration duties, including obtaining and/or verifying accuracy of patient demographics, obtaining copy of insurance card, and insurance information; updating and ensuring accurate information is put into UNMMG computer systems.
  • Generate charge documentation and other billing paperwork at time of patient's clinic visit to ensure proper billing information is obtained and documented.
  • Coordinate specialists' referrals and prescribed laboratory, radiology, and/or other related tests and procedures for patients; review and report on test results, as appropriate.
  • Assist in administrative problem solving, program/project planning, development, and execution of stated goals and objectives.
  • Procure and maintain inventories of clinical supplies, instruments, and equipment; coordinate and oversee the disposition, serviceability, and sterilization of clinical facilities and equipment, as appropriate.
  • Provide receptionist, staff, and administrative support for the clinic; schedule and facilitate meetings and/or classes, initiate and prepare correspondence, research information, and prepare reports, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all clinical administrative procedures, records, and documentation are in compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards; compile and prepare operational and activity reports, in compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • May train/orient staff and/or student employees.
