This role offers the opportunity to plan, develop, and deliver exceptional services while managing budgets and supervising a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with members, guests, and center staff to create a welcoming atmosphere
  • Assist in budget preparation and oversight, focusing on outcomes for the facility and group exercise program
  • Coordinate and oversee group exercise program development, delivery, scheduling, customer service, completion, and evaluation
  • Develop safety and operational standards for group exercise programs
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate part-time group exercise staff
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and renovations through inter and intra-departmental requests
  • Stay current on industry trends and their impact on group exercise programming
  • Perform routine maintenance on group exercise equipment and recommend new and replacement equipment
  • Develop and update operating guides, such as group exercise instructor manuals
  • Produce regular communications to customers through various channels
  • Review program use patterns and performance, reporting results and recommending improvements
  • Foster a team environment through daily work habits and a positive attitude
  • Participate in meetings to stay informed of facility issues and information
Requirements
  • One year of experience in teaching/instructing group exercise or supervising a group exercise program
  • Valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving record and current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
  • Preferred: Three or more years of experience teaching/instructing classes or supervising a group exercise program, and certifications from ISSA, NASM, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or comparable national organizations
Working Conditions

This role requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description.
