Housing Stabilization Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Housing Stabilization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Housing Placement and Housing Search Specialists team, you will play a vital role in ensuring partnership with previously homeless clients to provide supports that help sustain housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under tight timeframes to accurately enter guest information into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Develop and implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) as part of the transition from shelter to housing.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between guests, housing authorities, property owners, and community programs and partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including Excel and Outlook.

Preferred qualifications include bilingualism, training in Trauma-Informed Care, Progressive Engagement, and Motivational Interviewing, and basic understanding of Homeless Management Information Systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience working with a homeless population, providing direct care and/or active case management and referral services. They should also have knowledge of the issues related to homelessness, particularly around housing, substance abuse, mental illness, and economic factors as precipitants to homelessness.
