Housing Specialist

The Doe Fund is seeking a skilled Housing Specialist to join our team. As a Housing Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing holistic services, housing, and work opportunities to under-served populations.
Key Responsibilities:- Interface with landlords and management companies to establish working relationships and negotiate lease agreements.
- Create and maintain a liaison with the DHS Housing Placement Unit to ensure compliance with housing laws and codes.
- Oversee landlord and management company compliance in meeting established housing laws, building codes, and lease agreements.
- Work in conjunction with Case Management to identify potential clients for housing and resolve crises or conflicts with landlords and management companies.
- Monitor, evaluate, and revise housing management relationships to ensure uniformity in maintaining fair housing standards.
- Develop and maintain a database of available housing and work towards identifying new housing opportunities for clients through ongoing networks.
- Prepare and/or coordinate reports and related information related to housing codes and compliance.
- Inform Case Management staff of apartment readiness and/or problems with client maintaining apartment.
- Maintain a caseload of clients receiving outside income and prepare housing packages for clients.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with at least two to three years of community-based residential management experience or a related field. You will also have knowledge of applicable state and city housing and disability laws and codes, as well as computer literacy and a valid driver's license.
