Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key member of the hotel's Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel. This includes managing the Front Office, Housekeeping/Laundry, and Food & Beverage departments, as well as supporting the General Manager in achieving the hotel's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental activities to ensure successful hotel operations.
  • Establish and review departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Oversee hotel administrative processes, including staffing, training, and budgeting/finance.
  • Support the hotel's sales and business strategies to maximize revenues and profitability.
  • Partner with the General Manager to create a positive work environment and support front-line staff.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs and quality checks to drive exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Plan, organize, and delegate daily operational activities against forecasted business volume.
  • Drive effective communication across departments to ensure consistency and understanding of objectives and priorities.
  • Address and respond to guest comments and incidents.
  • Approve and process vendor invoices, complete bank deposits, and perform other accounting-related functions.
  • Maintain the hotel's compliance with the company's safety and security program and ensure adherence to all company and brand policies.
  • Analyze and evaluate hotel performance by compiling statistics and making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years' previous hotel operations and leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or appropriate combination of education and work experience.
  • Up-to-date certifications for safe food handling.
  • Previous experience in executing against operating budgets and meeting financial objectives.
  • Tech savvy, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse organizational functions.
  • Exceptional service orientation and ability to focus on guest needs.
  • Reliable and responsible character, with exceptional follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach, with exceptional initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous priorities in a fast-paced environment.
