Job Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of daily shipping activities. This includes preparing pallets for loading, accurately labeling outbound orders, and verifying the accuracy of physical goods to shipping documents. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations, as well as experience with W.M.S. and Inventory Control Applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute the preparation of pallets to be loaded on the trailer/container and configured within the specification of customer requirements
Accurately label pallets for outbound orders
Verify the accuracy of the physical goods to be shipped to shipping documents such as packing slip prior to loading
Coordinate transportation with shipping staff to optimize daily loads
Assist in picking/checking assignments, when needed.
Participate in root cause analysis to identify inventory accuracy issues
Provide feed-back to management for improvements to processes and procedures and assist with implementation of improvements
Maintain all shipping information to ensure that record-keeping is current and accurate
Determine needs to routing shipments either LTL, small parcel, or TL
Check all shipments to make sure they meet customer compliance requirements
Prepares paperwork for all outbound shipments. Ship confirms all LTL & TL shipments. Oversees all small parcel ship confirmations.
Responsible for queuing and delegating tasks to staff in a timely and efficient manner, via the control board.
Conduct weekly stage audits to ensure orders that are scheduled to ship have shipped.
Review on a daily basis O.T.D and Pick Not Shipped report to prevent any aged shipments.

Requirements:

High School diploma or G.E.D.
Warehouse & distribution environment
6 months - 1yr related experience or related field

Knowledge, Skills and General Abilities:

Working knowledge of warehouse & distribution outbound operations
Working knowledge in W.M.S. and Inventory Control Applications preferred (Oracle application experience preferred)
Working knowledge of Radio Frequency technology including R.F. gun navigation and task management preferred
Prioritize competing and interdependent tasks to meet aggressive deadlines
Attention to detail.
Ability to work in a group setting or independently.

Physical Demands:

Frequent sitting.
Infrequent Pulling/Pushing up to 1500lbs using a manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or Power Industrial Truck.
Infrequent walking.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to use RF unit.
Frequent standing.
Prolonged visual acuity necessary to view VDT.
Infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
Infrequent push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be flexible to work overtime.
Infrequent bending.

Work Environment:

Ability to work in a fast pace, high volume distribution environment
