Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role is to serve as the Design Engineer Project Manager on the engineering development and design of urban and rural highway/roadway projects within the Transportation Division. This position will involve mentoring junior engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development within the field of highway engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Highway design and computations
  • Quality control and oversight of detailed engineering designs for roadway, highway, and interchange projects
  • Design experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, and ADA compliance projects
  • Assistance with developing and mentoring the highway engineering skillsets of junior and entry-level design engineers
  • Frequent client interaction and report preparation

Requirements:

  • BSCE degree required
  • Active PE registration required
  • 10+ years' progressive experience in highway design and project management
  • Preliminary and Final design experience with ODOT projects, specifications, and guidelines preferred
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using Civil 3D, OpenRoad Designer, and roadway design software
  • Working knowledge and experience of MS Office, including MS Project
  • Demonstrated experience with AASHTO Policies and Guidelines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
