About the Role

CTL Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager and Team Lead. As a key member of our Geotech Team, you will be responsible for performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients, leveraging your expertise and creative problem-solving skills to deliver customized geotechnical studies, reports, and solutions.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Project Manager, you will guide projects through every stage of the land profile evaluation process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results. You will collaborate closely with institutions, municipal agencies, architects, engineers, developers, and project teams to deliver high-quality geotechnical services.

We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated individual who is committed to staying ahead of industry trends and has a creative approach to the geotechnical field. Key Responsibilities
  • Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation on developments.
  • Training and supervision of lab technicians, maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.
  • Training and development of lesser-experienced Engineers (EI/EIT and new PEs).
  • Tracking project progress in both timeline and budget/profit-loss capacities.
  • Assisting Marketing with the technical aspects in generating proposals.
  • Overseeing quality of work submitted (QA/QC).
  • Ability to work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Dept. Manager.
  • Providing direction on a project to project basis – i.e. preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
  • Preparing geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Interacting with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
  • Reviewing soils laboratory test results.
  • Assisting in planning and the execution of subsurface investigation programs - including the understanding of project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinating underground utility clearance.
  • Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
  • Performing analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
  • Monitoring and enforcing quality control standards and specifications.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
  • P.E. credentialing is required.
