Transportation Project Manager

Environmental Design Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our team. As a Technical Lead, you will play a key role in planning and coordinating projects, serving as a senior technical advisor, and assisting the project manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and coordinate projects, including trails, roadways, sidewalks, green and complete streets, and active transportation projects for ODOT, LPA, and Non-LPA clients throughout the state of Ohio.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor on projects of particular complexity, providing expertise and guidance to project teams.
- Assist the project manager in overseeing the scope, schedule, and budget for assessment, planning, design, and capital improvement projects.
- Perform and administer complex planning, design, and engineering work, requiring exceptional professional training and experience.
- Develop, implement, and maintain planning, design, and engineering standards, including standard specifications and drawings.
- Identify project risks and monitor/mitigate risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate and regularly communicate with the Project Manager and other project staff on the status of work, deliverables, schedule, and budgets.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Participate in client events, tradeshows, and industry associations.
- Prepare technical white papers for industry associations.
- Adhere to all quality and safety protocols.
- Participate in public meetings and deliver presentations as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in trail and/or multi-modal transportation, or the motivation to learn this specialty.
- Understanding of plan production, design grade, task management, schedule, and budget management.
- Willingness to train, mentor, and lead individuals within the department.
- PE, PLA/RLA, AICP, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and other industry-based software.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Advanced leadership and organizational skills within a team environment.
- Advanced presentation skills and comfort working with clients.
This is a full-time position that has the availability to work hybrid. Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Must have a valid driver's license and possess a driving record that will enable the employee to be insurable under the Company's standard vehicle insurance and general comprehensive liability insurance without additional costs to the Company.
This position will not have direct reports but will be expected to act as a mentor, coach, and train newer associates as appropriate.
