Position Summary:
The Mobile Plant Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily production activities of the plant. This position also involves supporting the routine, monthly, and yearly operational and maintenance tasks of the plant, with responsibilities spanning various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of safety among all team members; collaborate with safety personnel to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring safe production practices, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Develop and lead effective teams, mentoring direct reports for future growth opportunities.
- Guide the team in performance management, training, development, and succession planning.
- Ensure all crews are equipped with the necessary tools and training to operate safely, adhering to all relevant safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage the portable plant operations through administrative oversight to guarantee project completion within safety, schedule, and budget constraints; address any serious issues with corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant by applying performance metrics.
- Assist in the preventative maintenance of plant equipment.
- Support the daily operations related to aggregate production.
- Engage in projects involving fabrication equipment.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of all equipment and operations to ensure compliance with OSHA and MSHA standards.
- Perform general labor tasks as required.
- Complete other assigned duties as necessary.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance at designated work times.
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the heavy construction or aggregates production sector is advantageous.
- A valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are mandatory.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check is required.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor towards colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working varied hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; travel is expected (50%+).
- Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Proficient in working collaboratively in a team setting while also being capable of independent work with attention to detail.

- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Must be able to exert varying amounts of force to move objects as needed.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and potentially hazardous chemicals may occur.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and high places.
- Noise levels may vary, typically moderate to loud.
