{"Job Title": "Energy Strategy Analyst", "Job Summary": "We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Strategy Analyst to join our team at the Lansing Board of Water & Light. As an Energy Strategy Analyst, you will play a critical role in conducting energy planning activities, forecasting electric retail sales and peak load, and maintaining the Production Cost Model for electric generation studies.

Responsibilities:

* Forecast electric retail sales and peak load for short- and long-term requirements
* Collect and maintain data for the Production Cost Model and Capacity Expansion Model
* Provide wholesale sales and revenue forecasts to internal stakeholders
* Facilitate integrated resource planning processes
* Conduct studies and analyses of the electric resource portfolio
* Oversee Request for Proposal processes for energy resources
* Partner with finance, legal, and operations teams to negotiate and execute energy purchases
* Develop consistent internal reporting related to energy forecasts and actual results
* Provide input into Master Planning activities related to electric supply and demand resources
* Research and report on new technologies, industry news, and trends related to energy planning
* Prepare and present formal reports to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business, economics, data analytics, science, mathematics, statistics, environment, or equivalent
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Power BI, Outlook, Teams, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint
* Understanding of energy technologies, their capabilities, and risk and opportunities of each

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1-3 years of experience in an energy role
* Understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of statistical analysis and energy resource planning
* Prior experience using Production Cost Models or Capacity Expansion Models for electric planning
