Job Title: Facilities Technician III

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician III to join our team for an 11-month contract position with the potential for a contract extension or conversion.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Technician III to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing duties assigned by and under the supervision of a project manager or engineer, including acting as an ambassador for safety within the team and promoting safe work across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and promote safe work across the site.
  • Perform duties assigned by and under the supervision of a project manager or engineer.
  • Act as the technical consultant for capital projects within the process engineering team.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all manufacturing systems, including automated material handling equipment, conveyance, packaging machines, labeling machines, and other production equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot controls components, including sensors, scanners, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders.
  • Work on PLCs and PLC programs, with the ability to troubleshoot ladder logic and components.
  • Develop and deliver Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Work from schematics and engineering drawings to aid in the creation of process documents and work instructions.
Requirements:
  • Journey-level mechanical skills with a minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing, R&D, and facility equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of PLC-based control systems (Allen Bradley/Rockwell preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in Electrical and Mechanical and Pneumatic diagnosis and troubleshooting of robotic and other machines and equipment.
  • Ability to document startup processes and designs of mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment.
  • Capable of analyzing equipment installation practices and offering solutions to improve the efficacy of installation schedules.
  • Effective interpersonal, team, prioritization, and written/verbal communication skills, including honesty, integrity, and respect for fellow associates.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills with a keen eye for details in documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency, such as data entry and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Physical dexterity to climb ladders and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices around moving and electrical equipment.
  • Perform basic to intermediate-level fabrications and machine modifications using standard machine shop equipment (drill press, saw, mill, lathe, hand tools, etc.).
  • Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of machine shop and handheld power tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of work experience installing, troubleshooting, building, and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Formal trade qualification or current electrical contractor license.
  • Robotic programming experience (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, etc.).
  • Fabrication/machining experience in a development environment.
  • Identify potential or existing flaws and perform troubleshooting based on computer-aided design (CAD) files (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and modify PLC/PC controllers, such as motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and its tools, including 5S, Kaizen.
  • Experience using systems for data collection and Quality Control.
Compensation:

$29.00 per hour
