Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager to spearhead sales efforts in a specified region or major geographical area. The ideal candidate will leverage technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence existing and potential customers, driving profit generation for United Petroleum Transports.

Responsibilities

- Research and understand customer needs, developing programs to satisfy those needs effectively
- Determine and develop market strategies and goals for various customer needs
- Obtain, utilize, and disseminate critical data and information within the organization
- Research and develop potential customer lists
- Evaluate service marketability in terms of customers' needs
- Follow up on sales leads and develop leads
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments affecting target markets
- Establish and maintain industry contacts leading to sales
- Work with sales staff, operations support staff, and customer service staff to establish communication paths with customers, ensuring sales opportunities and guaranteeing first-class service
- Meet established sales quota and profit goals

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing with at least three years of field sales experience or five plus years of sales experience in the transportation industry
- Proven record of success in expanding customer base and increasing revenue potential with current customers
- Attracted and retained loyal customers by building a reputation of integrity, knowledge, and accountability

- Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Display professional demeanor
- Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with a wide range of individuals
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures

Work Environment

- Normal office environment
- Travel 50%
