Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software applications, services, and systems, encompassing both user-facing and backend components.
  • Oversee source code management by adhering to industry-standard version control practices.
  • Investigate and adopt new methodologies and technologies to remain at the forefront of software development.
  • Employ code validation tools to guarantee that source code is valid, well-structured, secure, and compatible across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose effective solutions.
  • Integrate developed software applications into existing operational frameworks.
  • Engage in test-driven development utilizing robust unit testing strategies.
  • Revise or enhance existing software to rectify issues, adapt to new technologies, upgrade interfaces, and boost performance.
  • Create technical documentation, architectural designs, and prototypes, including physical, interface, logical, or data models.
  • Disseminate valuable insights with colleagues and leadership; participate as a subject matter expert within the community.
  • Compile reports and consult with clients or stakeholders to address technical challenges and provide operational assistance.
  • Develop DevSecOps (CI/CD) pipelines while embedding security measures during infrastructure deployment as code (IaC).

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a Public Trust clearance; prior or active DHS ICE clearance is advantageous.
  • 9 years of experience in IT security (Cybersecurity) with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, or 11+ years of experience in IT security (Cybersecurity) without a degree.
  • Certification as an Application Security Engineer (CASE) or as a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).
  • Certification as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Expertise in formulating and managing IT or software governance policies.
  • Extensive experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), particularly agile methodologies.
  • Proven experience in developing web APIs in accordance with standards such as NIST SP.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipeline tools (JIRA, automated testing/deployments).
  • Experience in cloud computing and its security applications.
  • Experience conducting Security Control Assessments in compliance with NIST SP, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-53A, and other NIST 800 guidelines.
