Job Title: Director Network Engineering

Populus Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Director of Network Engineering to lead our network engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional vision and leadership while managing a team of engineers to implement new solutions, improve existing services, and secure/prevent/respond to events that disrupt business and/or technical operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the Network Engineering team in delivering and supporting multiple locations and platforms running in a 24/7 environment.
  • Develop and lead the network team strategy/roadmap, ensuring its integration with broader IT and enterprise strategic plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and detailed direction for networks, telecommunications, administration, and data centers.
  • Attract, retain, and develop qualified technical talent with required skills and capabilities to effectively create, manage, and maintain a zero-trust network.
  • Lead the development of key performance indicators and perform continuous process improvement.
  • Manage vendor partners and review vendor contracts, scope of work documents, technical specifications, service level agreements, etc. for technology service providers; negotiate renewals and new contracts.
  • Stay current on new technologies and Information Security; provide recommendations on existing and emerging technologies.
  • Enable cost-effective and innovative shared technology solutions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate performance measures; drive continuous proactive improvement.
  • Identify preventative measures to minimize the likelihood of a system disruption and coordinate implementation of these measures with the appropriate departments.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and managing complex networks, with at least 5 years involving the delivery of infrastructure services and operational excellence.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manager or director role (based on network engineering) in a 24 x 7 production environment.
  • Experience with a broad spectrum of technologies including advanced networking concepts, Microsoft stack, backup maintenance, custom application support, analytics, system integration, disaster recovery, and data security systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in transforming teams through process improvement, performance management, realignment, and hiring to achieve higher performance levels.
  • Experience leading a team where customer experience was a priority.
  • Experience researching and troubleshooting IT issues and products and present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Experience in network planning, enterprise network architecture, capacity planning, network evolution, strategic planning, or deployment.
  • Experience in backup technologies and processes.
  • Experience with system testing processes, to identify and close gaps in technical design for hardware and software.
