Project Manager Job Description

BEI Construction is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our Security division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall direction, coordination, and completion of security system installation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure timely, accurate, and on-budget completion, adhering to established project management procedures.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process and lead project kickoff meetings.
  • Manage workload distribution and monitor customer delivery and installation progress.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, including change orders, deliveries, on-site visits, and other project-related matters.
  • Engage purchasing staff for purchases and/or equipment.
  • Plan, manage, monitor, and maintain project profitability.
  • Review project status weekly to identify problem areas and spearhead resolutions.
  • Raise awareness to management regarding potential claims, back charges, or large costs that may affect BEI financially on assigned projects.
  • Ensure that any scope, schedule, cost, or change of terms are handled in accordance with stated change order procedures.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss project statuses and utilization.
  • Prepare project reports as requested.
  • Keep accurate files and records of project status and activities.
  • Review job cost postings for accuracy and completeness, including the preparation of invoices, customer collections, and periodic financial reporting to the customer and management.
  • Travel as needed to jobsites.
  • Manage all related quality and safety issues on customer work.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Project Manager in the Security industries is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a related industry is preferred.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid CA Driver License and MVR that meets BEI driving standards.
  • Ability to interpret construction and technical documents.
  • Understanding of security system functionality and installation processes and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
