Position Summary: The Security Operations Supervisor is responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of security and emergency protocols. This role includes managing physical security measures, overseeing building access, conducting premises patrols, and ensuring a secure environment for staff and visitors. The supervisor will address security incidents, maintain surveillance systems, and prepare comprehensive reports as necessary. Furthermore, they will actively engage with local law enforcement to enhance safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Operations and Facilities Manager and Chief Operating Officer to establish and implement security policies and procedures that protect the organization’s assets and personnel.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
  • Direct staff during emergency situations and coordinate responses effectively.
  • Contribute to the organization’s emergency action plan and assist in ongoing safety training and drills.
  • Evaluate and respond to security incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide detailed reports on daily operations and any incidents to the Operations and Facilities Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure comprehensive security coverage across the organization.
  • Monitor the entry and exit of employees, visitors, and vehicles, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Patrol and observe activities on the premises to deter unauthorized access and maintain a safe environment.
  • Manage the removal of trespassers and violators, ensuring adherence to legal protocols until authorities arrive.
  • Monitor surveillance systems for any irregularities or unlawful activities.
  • Test security systems and operate metal detectors during special events as required.
  • Utilize communication devices effectively and professionally.
  • Administer CPR or first aid as necessary.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas.
  • Ensure all personnel and visitors possess the appropriate credentials for accessing various building levels.
  • Assist employees and visitors with any security-related concerns.
  • Escalate emergency situations to first responders and law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Investigate suspicious activities, documenting and reporting findings.
  • Manage traffic flow during peak occupancy periods.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates may be required to demonstrate proficiency in essential skills during the interview process.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in security-related roles is essential; experience in security management is preferred.
  • A valid Texas security guard license is mandatory.
  • Training in basic first aid and CPR is advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor are essential.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities are required.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond swiftly in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Physical capability to kneel, carry, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods is required.
  • Ability to perform continuous physical exertion as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of security techniques is beneficial.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
