Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and negotiate the acquisition of real property, rights-of-way, easements, or other property rights.
  • Coordinate the acquisition process with property owners, tenants, legal representatives, upper-level administration, and outside agencies.
  • Request, coordinate, and review appraisals of real property and structures to establish fair market value.
  • Order and evaluate title reports, deeds, and plans to determine legal rights of ownership and institute procedures to clear titles.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts, agreements, and other documents for real property transactions.
  • Perform a variety of administrative, professional, and technical tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or real estate.
  • Five (5) years of commercial real estate broker experience.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Possession of a New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
  • Possession of a New Mexico Real Estate License, Associate Broker, or Qualified Broker.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Principles and practices of real estate law, property appraisal, and acquisition.
  • Principles and practices of program development and implementation.
  • Basic procedures, methods, and techniques of budget preparation and control.
  • Methods and techniques of surveying, land measurements, and preparing legal descriptions of property.
  • Principles and practices of supervision.
  • Methods and techniques of negotiation.
  • Principles and practices of real estate negotiations.
  • Methods and techniques of project management.
  • Principles, practices, and laws governing condemnation proceedings.
  • Office equipment, including computers.
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and safety regulations.
