Job Title: Process Technician

About the Role:
MGS Mfg. Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Process Technician to join our team. As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, testing, and upkeep of injection mold tooling and injection mold equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup, run, and teardown injection molding tooling and equipment for development runs.
  • Perform scientific injection molding studies.
  • Work with customers on process development of new and existing injection molds.
  • Work with internal toolmakers and project managers to troubleshoot new and existing injection molds.
  • Setup, program, and run 3-axis robots to pick and place parts and runners.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on issues to provide detailed observations and potential solutions.
  • Follow internal and external protocols as required for sample runs to meet customer requirements.
  • Recommend new or modified components of plastic injection molding machinery.
  • Conduct tests such as process window studies and design of experiments of plastic injection molding processes to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
  • Analyze indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and make recommendations to modify or adjust equipment to meet specification.
  • Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in process, product, or test method.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program, or a four-year university program, in a related field of study is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of plastic injection molding experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of injection molding processes is preferred.
  • Familiar with working with conventional manufacturing equipment such as basic hand tools, etc.
  • Fork truck and Lock out Tag out Certification.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Mechanical skills.
