We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, including offices, restrooms, classrooms, and kitchen areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all facilities, including offices, restrooms, classrooms, and kitchen areas.
  • Conduct weekly lawn service and maintain the cleanliness of parking lots, lawns, and walkways.
  • Conduct minor facility and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and maintenance equipment.
  • Setup and prepare rooms for program usage.
  • Transport food donations and equipment/supplies as assigned.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly safety checks.
  • Assist with seasonal projects, including food drives and Red Kettles.
Requirements:
  • Ability to speak and write English at a high and professional level.
  • Minimum one year of building maintenance and/or janitorial service experience.
  • High degree of confidentiality.
  • Able to endorse and promote The Salvation Army's mission.
  • Computer literate in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
  • Ability to reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools.
