New Patient Coordinator Lead

This role is responsible for overseeing the New Patient department, ensuring that all new patient referrals are managed efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service and be able to multitask with ease.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage new patient referrals and ensure timely verification of insurance requirements
- Train and oversee New Patient Coordinators in scheduling appointments and using computerized scheduling systems
- Import and manage new patient packets from websites and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Support the team in creating new patient accounts within the scheduler
- Provide training resources on obtaining necessary medical record information from referring providers
- Electronically assign documents such as orders, operation notes, consents, outside records, procedures, and therapies using standard classification systems within the electronic medical record (EMR) chart
- Work with team members to implement a paperless workplace
- Support the team with scheduling and billing IME's with attorney offices and Workman's compensation companies
- Register new patients by completing website packets
- Document work processes as required
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader/managers
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Process web-based referrals (consults, emails, and live chats)
- Maintain patient spreadsheets, oversee all metrics, and ensure all team goals are met
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees
- Be competent in computer applications pertaining to the position
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
- Experience as a New Patient Coordinator required
- Basic typing and keyboarding skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Highly detail-oriented
- Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies
- Medical experience is helpful but not necessary
- Tact and diplomacy
