Position Overview:
In the realm of Finance and Accounting, we are undergoing a transformative journey. As a Senior Manager in External Financial Reporting, you will play a pivotal role, moving beyond traditional accounting functions to become a collaborative partner with significant influence within the organization. Your unique insights and enthusiasm will contribute to a dynamic team environment, impacting various facets of our business.
Your expertise in quality financial reporting and technical accounting will be essential in supporting our business partners effectively. You will lead initiatives that ensure the success of Target's strategic objectives and core operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong partnerships across the organization and with external stakeholders to provide guidance on technical accounting matters.
- Ensuring the integrity and quality of external financial reporting.
- Evaluating new business initiatives and advising senior management on accounting policies and disclosure requirements.
- Overseeing accounting processes related to share-based compensation and equity, including the review of monthly financial close activities, analytics, forecasts, and key internal reporting.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A four-year degree in Accounting.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in public accounting, financial reporting, or technical accounting.
- A CPA certification.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and SOX compliance.
- Strong relationship-building skills, professional judgment, and critical thinking abilities.
- The capability to lead projects independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in process improvement and automation.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to translate accounting guidance into practical business solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This position offers a Hybrid/Flex work arrangement, allowing for a combination of onsite and virtual work based on the needs of the team and tasks. Work duties must be performed within the designated primary work location unless otherwise specified by Target.
