Key Responsibilities:- Direct and check the work of other Obstetrical Technicians, ensuring seamless workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new Obstetrical Technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
- Conduct regular checks of labor rooms and delivery rooms to ensure adequate equipment and supplies are available.
- Track and maintain equipment preventive maintenance and supply expiration dates, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Set up emergency equipment and welcome patients to the unit, escorting them to their designated rooms.
- Obtain patient identification and create temporary ID bracelets, promoting patient safety and security.
- Transport patients to various areas, including delivery rooms, ultrasound, and postpartum, as needed.
- Check testing schedules, pull charts, and ensure proper supply of packs, maintaining a well-organized and efficient workflow.
- Set up sterile delivery tables and baby units for delivery, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Assist Registered Nurses in the recovery room, delivery room, and Cesarean delivery room, providing exceptional patient care and support.
- File monitor strips in envelopes, maintaining accurate records and promoting patient safety.
- Wash and sterilize instruments, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Keep utility rooms and supply areas neat and well-organized, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient needs, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- At least two years of experience as an Obstetrical Technician, with a proven track record of leadership and technical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex techniques and procedures under general supervision, adhering to departmental specifications.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills and ability to present information to customers, clients, and colleagues in a clear and concise manner.
- Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
